The Asian International Workshop, a knowledge and experience sharing platform initiated by Fujian Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, kicked off on March 23. Li Hong, former Deputy Director General of Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, gave an online presentation on China's Neighborhood Diplomacy and Fujian's Opening-up to around 60 officials from Fujian’s sister cities like Nagasaki, Central Java and Luang Prabang as well as local foreign affairs offices in Fujian.
After an informative talk on the direction of China’s foreign policy, the impact of China's development on the rest of the world, China's neighborhood diplomacy and Fujian’s internationalization pushed by opening-up, Li put forth a three point proposal to further cooperation between Fujian and Asian partners, i.e. strengthening synergy of development strategies, fostering growth points by tapping the potential of comparative strengths and deepening Belt and Road cooperation.
In the Q & A session, Li had in-depth discussions with participants on such questions as how to promote international exchange and sister city relationship amid ongoing epidemic prevention and control, and how to pool the strengths of all stakeholders to advance the work related to foreign affairs.
